High Pressure Laminate Forming

Slot-Former-How-It-Works

The demand has been to produce the 180° wrap quickly, more efficiently and to wrap all the way around with only one seam on the backside.  To this end, we have designed the Model SF-12 and SF-6 Slotformer®.  This is the quickest, easiest and least expensive method of obtaining a full wrap around.  In a matter of minutes and inexperienced operator can learn how to produce 180° wraps.  You can bend all formable high-pressure laminates from the thicker counter-top materials to the thinner cabinet and surfacing materials as well as real wood veneers.  Ninety-degree bends, no drip edges and a multitude of other shapes can also be formed easily on this machine.  This product will produce hundreds of wraps per day and will make money for your company.

On each model the rear platen is adjustable down from 6-1/4” to whatever diameter rolled edge is desired.  On Model SF-12, the front and lower pressure platens are divided at the center to allow for individual operation.  A switch on the control panel marked 12 ft. / 6 ft. selects the mode required.  Located along the SF-12 front edge are left and right hand switches.  In the 6 ft. mode, each switch operates the left or right pressure platens respectively. In the 12 ft. mode, either switch operates the entire pressure length.  The rear adjustable platen and Dual Quartz Heater remain full length during all operations.  On both models, the lower pressure platen need not be activated when doing 180° full wraps and may be turned off as required.

Model SF-12 is 150” long, 26” wide and 30” high.  The Dual Element Quartz Heater included, is 157” long and 6” wide.  A simple connection is provided for the 208/230 volt, 1 phase 40 amps power.  An air regulator and gauge is located on the equipment for easy access.  One 2oz. bottle of Tempilaq is included along with complete instructions on both models.

Model SF-6 is 78” long with all the features of the 12 ft. model and is designed for those who do not require a divided front platen.  Power requirements for the 6 ft. model are 208/230 volt, 1 phase, 30 amps.  All equipment comes with a limited one-year warranty.

Our Coving Tube is a must for all counter-top shops wishing to produce counter-tops with a back-splash.  The cove tube is 1/2” diameter (1/4” radius) x 152” long.  The radius on our cove tube is the industry standard.  A water glass can be pushed all the way against the back-splash and the glass will not tip.  The cove tube requires 115 volt/5 amps and comes complete with tube insulators and temperature control.  We also manufacture custom sized coving tubes upon request.  If you are interested in a special cove tube – call for pricing.

Our Dual Element Quartz Heaters are available in several lengths and are a direct replacement for the Quartz Heater on our Slotformer®.  The elements are hand wound with Nicrome wire and are braised at the ends for long life and durability.  They are engineered to bring HPL up to optimum forming temperature in approximately 30-40 seconds.  We manufacture 4-foot, 6-foot and 12-foot Quartz Heaters.  See our pricing page for exact dimensions and electrical requirements.

Available In Either 6ft or 12ft Length
